How it plays
Joe is played over 13 rounds. In each round one rank is wild, starting with aces and ending with kings, and the two jokers are wild every round. A wild card can stand in for any card in a set or a run. If someone holds the natural card a wild is standing in for, they can play it in its place.
Every turn follows the same rhythm:
- Draw a card.
- Play sets (cards of the same rank) or runs (cards of one suit in sequence) from your hand onto the table.
- Once you’ve played to the table, you’re down, and you can add single cards to any set or run already on the board.
- Discard to end your turn.
A round ends when someone discards their last card. That player scores zero, and everyone else scores the cards still in their hand. After 13 rounds, the lowest total wins.
